IJ - Cool FactorIJ is ready for spring after a dull winter, and it doesn’t get more fun and casual than a great jeans outfit. Goodwill is a great place for jeans–and the ones you see here are no exception! These all-cotton DKNY jeans were just $4.99 and I couldn’t resist pairing them with the clever Darth Vader in roller skates t-shirt from Star Wars that was $3.99. |
Emily - Print PerfectOur model Emily is print perfect in this beautiful dress from Mossimo that was just $6.99! It’s important to recognize a print that will work for you and this one covers all the bases. It’s not too colorful, but it is bold enough to stand out in a crowd. |
Rose - Bright and FunRose was also one of our model search runner-ups last year, and she had already purchased this fun dress on one of her Goodwill shopping excursions. It’s bright and fun just like she is! This multi-color statement print dress by Nina Leonard was just $5.99! |
Chris - Perfect Summer StyleChristopher is getting summer just right with this v-neck tee shirt from Mossimo ($2.99), that we tie-dyed ourselves using a kit found at the local Goodwill store. We rolled the shirt lengthwise and then did bold “stripes” of blue and yellow for a bright and fun warm-weather look. Shorts make the grade here as well in blue with striped seersucker lining. |
Our cool and casual model Cory is all about the layering and texture in this great look using items from our stores, as well as a few things from his own closet. I can’t stress enough how easy it is to shop our stores for items that could work with other pieces in your wardrobe! I was on a search to find some classic corduroy pieces and I really hit the jackpot when I found these BDG brand corduroy slacks with jeans styling! |
Nothing says back-to-school cool like a casual, layered look like the one our model Ian, (IJ) is sporting this month. All you need to put it all together are a few key items. We started with a great alternative to jeans for everyday wear. These gray-and-white pinstripe chinos from Gap are perfect for a sophisticated, yet easy look. With those as a base, we added an all-important graphic t-shirt with a red-white-and-blue Triumph motorcycle design by Lucky Brand. |
Kenzie takes a pair of jeans to a more high-fashion place by adding subtle hints of metallic, texture and neutral color in this amazing look. The dark-wash Banana Republic jeans are straight-legged. They’re a nice wardrobe builder and a nice, easy- -to-wear silhouette for $5.99! |
Haley - Pairing Perfect Separates Haley was our 2013 model contest winner, and she sure does look like she took the prize for this outfit! When putting together separates you have to allow one unique piece to really stand out. |
Cory - Shades of Blue, Black & Gray Shades of blue, black and gray don’t have to be boring if you combine them like we did for our model Cory. He had these pale-blue casual pants in his own wardrobe, so we based our look off of those. We went with a great Ben Sherman graphic t-shirt in black featuring a unique design, and then topped it off with a crisp blue-and-white gingham button down shirt for more contrast. |
I.J. - Monochromatic Fashion Our model this month, I.J., gives off movie-star vibrations in this monochromatic-fashion look. All shades of almost any color can be combined to make a traffic stopping ensemble. In this case we went for a dressed-up, yet casual look. |
Jerricka - Party Sophistication Jerricka celebrates the beginning of summer in this sophisticated party look. The dress she’s wearing is an ombre, black-and-white-and-blue patterned dress by Maeve. This is a great find for many reasons, let alone the low price tag! The silhouette is flattering, and the way the colors bleed into the skirt are cool, daring and interesting. |
