Emily - The Perfect Fall Look

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Nov 2, 2015 11:10:54 AM

Emily is totally on trend with fall’s latest must haves! And, they all came from Goodwill! Start your layered look with these stretchy-black jeans from Olivia. A dark pair of jeans ($4.99) will take you through the year as a great base for any awesome look. We decided to do some daytime glam with a sequin tank top ($3.99) in a beige/pink from Talbots. Sequins can be day friendly in a subtle color like this one. A black blazer ($4.99) is a wardrobe staple, but make sure the fit is fabulous like the one here from Mossimo. Our model had some lovely suede wedge shoes from Kate Spade which were tailor-madefor the image we were going for. Now, when it comes to accessories, we gave her some pop with a statement necklace ($4.99) in gold and teal, some drop earrings ($1.49) in gold, and a chain bracelet ($2.99) also in gold. The tortoise shell oversized frames were an awesome find for just $1.99! A great handbag in snakeskin really turned our outfit into fashion. Live a little, and always look for accessories that set off your outfit when shopping at Goodwill!

Kristin - Boho-chic for Back to School

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Sep 1, 2015 12:00:00 AM

Dressing for back to school can be tricky with the fluctuating temperatures, but as long as you have some great pieces to layer it’s all good! Kristin is a boho-style girl with flame-red color on the ends of her hair, so putting her in a casual dress that featured tie dye on the bodice and elasticized waistband, along with a chambray skirt from Say What, was an easy choice. We layered the dress over another pink t-shirt from Mossimo for added style, and to make it less of a sundress and even more appropriate for school. We jazzed it up with some cool accessories like the gray spiked bracelets and the delicate hippie- style necklace, and used her own white sandals to keep it fun. The big idea here is to use a dressier blazer in gray from Last Kiss to give our other pieces not only more style, but some substance as well. Blazers make great transitional jackets in early fall and spring, too! Kristin is ready to “school” her fellow classmates in the elements of style!

IJ - Back-to-School Cool

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Sep 1, 2015 12:00:00 AM

Nothing says back-to-school cool like a casual, layered look like the one our model Ian, (IJ) is sporting this month. All you need to put it all together are a few key items. We started with a great alternative to jeans for everyday wear. These gray-and-white pinstripe chinos from Gap are perfect for a sophisticated, yet easy look. With those as a base, we added an all-important graphic t-shirt with a red-white-and-blue Triumph motorcycle design by Lucky Brand. This creates a great contrast for the black button down long-sleeve shirt we used as an alternative to a denim jacket. To make everything “pop” a little more we added a white watch from Xhileration, as well as some always cool slip-on deck-style shoes from Vans. This look is polished enough for day tripping around campus, but casual enough for a game of basketball on the court as well. IJ is all smiles because he knows he looks good!

Bari - Ahead of the Class

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Aug 1, 2015 12:00:00 AM

Bari is a teen who likes to dress up a little bit, so we thought we’d combine some fresh and colorful separates, that will ease her out of summer pursuits and back into the classroom. When everyone else is wearing jeans, Bari will stand out in an awesome way with this floral patterned skirt from Express in green and blue, that we’ve paired with a sleeveless blouse from H&M in a complementary green color. This is a great transitional look, that could be layered with a cotton cardigan if need be as the temperatures vary in classrooms.  We styled it with the white sandals, which our model brought to the photo shoot, and I think it’s a perfectly pulled together late summer look. We also accessorized with a  few of her own unique jewelry pieces like the silver stud earrings, in addition to the cool-blue leather bracelet, and then added a sliver belt from Goodwill for $2.99, as well as a green, beaded metallic bracelet that was $.99! All in all, she will no doubt go the head of the fashion class with this winning ensemble!

Makeena - Work Day to Date Night

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Jul 1, 2015 12:30:00 AM

Makeena looks awesome in this pulled together outfit that could go to work with you, or could just as easily transition into date night. We started with a simple black t-shirt that was from our model’s own closet. A great t-shirt that fits well, in a neutral color can always be the basis for any great ensemble. They layer under other items perfectly, and create a great backdrop for pieces that need to stand out, like this fabulous skirt from Ann Taylor Loft in a geometric print pattern. Done in lightweight cotton, it’s the perfect companion for our black tee. We topped it off  with a collarless blazer in black by Anne Klein to maintain the sleek and contemporary lines of our other pieces, and complement the geometric pattern of the skirt. We accessorized with items such as bangle bracelets in black and red/silver, as well as some pearl earrings. Her shoes are the popular Mary Jane-style pumps in a burgundy color that don’t exactly match the outfit, but instead go with it. All in all this is one great, yet simply stylish look that anyone can recreate. Just start with a statement skirt, like the one shown here that you might find at Goodwill!
