Joel goes back to basics as we slowly head towards spring. What is back to basics? TIP: When shopping at Goodwill, men should always look for chinos, cords or other non-blue denim pants to add to their wardrobe. On Joel, we found some J Brand brown jeans for just $6.99, and they elevate the everyday look of denim just a little bit. A classic long-sleeved pullover from Mossimo was $3.99 in a dark blue-gray with some contrasting details. To accessorize, we used a European-style scarf that was $2.99 to add some color and flair, as well as some cool lace-up shoes in distressed blue from Joel’s own wardrobe. Suddenly, a back-to-basic shirt and pants combination doesn’t look so basic, does it?
The models you see in this blog are actual Goodwill shoppers who donated their time to participate in our annual Amazing Looks photo shoot. All clothing was selected from our very own Goodwill Store & Donation Centers and styled by Goodwill Fashion Expert, Bjorn Nasett. Hair and makeup was provided by Kitty Tierney of Impressions and all photography was created by Jessica Kaminski of Refinery Milwaukee.

Charmaine looks great in this leggings ensemble that’s perfect for the transitional weather ahead. You simply can’t go wrong with a pair of leather leggings because there are so many options for what you can pair with them. We decided to go for a more upscale-dressy look here with metallic accents and rich textures. The layered-look top featuring sparkly-contrasting pleated sleeves and peplum with a brown-and-black textured sweater by designer Alberto Makali was $14.99. To keep the luxurious look going, we simply added a statement necklace that was NWT (new with tags) to fill in the v-neck of the sweater with interest and style, also for $14.99. The Nina New York brand heels, feature a burnished gold vamp, ankle strap and embellished heels for $12.99. This is fashion and fun at its best with a monochromatic vibe. TIP: Brown and black look great together, and pairing these neutrals helps create a sophisticated and polished ensemble. Charmaine looks effortlessly chic, doesn’t she?
