Jennifer is showing us the “gold” standard of style here by adding some metallic magic to items she already had in her wardrobe. She loves this black skirt that she found at Goodwill on one of her regular shopping trips. The full skirt proved to be a great match for the vintage Pierre Cardin gold knit sweater that had an attached tie belt! This great piece from the past was just $7.99, and could be worn with jeans, slacks, or other items from her wardrobe. TIP: Metallic items in classic silver or gold are considered “neutrals” and can work with almost any other color you pair them with. Our accessories take the look to fashionable heights with the lace-up black peep toe heels she brought along to the photo shoot, and the tassel necklace for $2.99, as well as the gold dangle earrings for $1.99 that we added in to keep her gleaming. She looks ready to take on whatever 2018 will hand her with confidence and sparkle!
The models you see in this blog are actual Goodwill shoppers who donated their time to participate in our annual Amazing Looks photo shoot. All clothing was selected from our very own Goodwill Store & Donation Centers and styled by Goodwill Fashion Expert, Bjorn Nasett. Hair and makeup was provided by Kitty Tierney of Impressions and all photography was created by Jessica Kaminski of Refinery Milwaukee.
All images for Goodwill's Amazing Looks prior to 2019 were supplied by John Grant Photography.
Isaiah is looking fresh, and ready to put a little “spring” into his step. This month is a great time to head to Goodwill to freshen up your own outlook, as well as your wardrobe! We utilized a great faux-leather jacket that Isaiah brought to the photo shoot and built our cool, yet casual outfit from there. The black-and-white t- shirt from his own wardrobe is a great foil to the colorful purple chinos from GAP that we found for just $4.99. They really add a “pop” of color to this singer/songwriter’s look. TIP: Jeans, shoes, handbags or other items in bright colors can infuse the most ordinary outfit with a bit of swagger when paired with neutral items! To continue the rock-n-roll trend, the Converse All Star sneakers with multicolored shoelaces were a steal at $7.99, and just for fun, we gave him some “attitude” glasses that were $1.99. Who says the last few months of winter can’t be bright and stylish too?
