Ayden is definitely going back to school in style! That's not to say he isn’t all year round! Some kids just have parents with a great sense of style, and pass it on to their kids. Ayden’s dad is in the business of fashion and beauty, so this guy is a chip off the old block; and he's absorbed some of that hip factor, too. As usual for a lot of back-to-school looks we worked around a pair of jeans, because they are such a practical start for any active student. Jeans are a great buy at Goodwill and these Akademiks brand lightly-washed gray jeans fit the bill perfectly. I ask you, what can be more fun than a graphic tee shirt with a monster on it from Oshkosh B’Gosh to go with those jeans? Well, the answer is, layering on a fresh, green-checked button down shirt from Gymboree! Keeping it all simple, the only thing we needed to do here was cuff the jeans and add Ayden’s own crisp white tennis shoes to bring it all together. Now, he’s not only ready for school, but enjoying his casually cool look as well!
The models you see in this blog are actual Goodwill shoppers who donated their time to participate in our annual Amazing Looks photo shoot. All clothing was selected from our very own Goodwill Store & Donation Centers and styled by Goodwill Fashion Expert, Bjorn Nasett. Hair and makeup was provided by Kitty Tierney of Impressions and all photography was created by Jessica Kaminski of Refinery Milwaukee.
All images for Goodwill's Amazing Looks prior to 2019 were supplied by John Grant Photography.
Bari is a teen who likes to dress up a little bit, so we thought we’d combine some fresh and colorful separates, that will ease her out of summer pursuits and back into the classroom. When everyone else is wearing jeans, Bari will stand out in an awesome way with this floral patterned skirt from Express in green and blue, that we’ve paired with a sleeveless blouse from H&M in a complementary green color. This is a great transitional look, that could be layered with a cotton cardigan if need be as the temperatures vary in classrooms. We styled it with the white sandals, which our model brought to the photo shoot, and I think it’s a perfectly pulled together late summer look. We also accessorized with a few of her own unique jewelry pieces like the silver stud earrings, in addition to the cool-blue leather bracelet, and then added a sliver belt from Goodwill for $2.99, as well as a green, beaded metallic bracelet that was $.99! All in all, she will no doubt go the head of the fashion class with this winning ensemble!
