Let’s talk about one of the most important elements of holiday hosting… the food! But more specifically, displaying the food. This is “how we holiday” at Goodwill: shining silver trays, colorful glass plates, festive platters and even some fun drinkware to match! Goodwill is THE place to find all these items without breaking your holiday budget or sacrificing quality. The gorgeous pieces you’ll find at Goodwill will last for years to come. Whether you need one more tray to hold that last dozen cookies, or an extra dish for Grandma’s famous casserole, Goodwill is your one-stop-shop for holiday hosting. And don’t forget, your purchases help to support Goodwill’s mission of providing employment and training services for people right in your community. And that’s something we can all be merry about! |

Twist on TraditionI’m a traditionalist when it comes to Christmas decorating. I like real trees (I have three), old-fashion Christmas lights (the big bulbs) and red. That doesn’t mean I don’t try something new or different every year. One year one tree was all white and gold. I put a 60’s silver tinsel tree in the bathroom, and hung a small tree upside down in my kitchen window. I try to come up with an unusual DIY Christmas decoration every year. |
Hot Cocoa Bar
Who doesn’t love a good cup of hot cocoa after a day of playing in the snow? We love to get together with friends for an afternoon of sledding, tubing, making snowmen and having fun in the outdoors. A great way to warm up is to provide a hot cocoa bar for your guests. Below is the basic hot cocoa recipe we use. It takes just a few simple ingredients to make, and it is always a hit! |
