Thrifting is like a real-life treasure hunt, and I love searching through the racks to find the hidden gems. When you hit the jackpot and find a designer piece, there is no better feeling! I have found pieces from YSL, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton, and more all while thrifting, and have some tips to help you find designer pieces at your local Goodwill too.

  1. Location: while you can find designer pieces anywhere, I have had better luck when I shop at multiple locations. Most people donate to the location closest to where they live. So, try different neighborhoods!

  1. Go often: Designer pieces will sell fast so make sure you thrift often and be ready to spend some time combing through the racks. Also, don’t think about it! If you see a designer piece, BUY IT. I promise you it will not be there if you wait or go back for it.

  2. Take your time: Don’t just look at the items behind the glass. Most times when I find designer pieces, they are mixed in with everything else on the racks. So, make sure you take the time to go through everything on the racks.

  3. See the potential: Sometimes, you will find a piece that will need some TLC. A simple google search can show you how to clean it. You can also send a bag off to a restorer, who can take a thrift find from a designer throw away to looking brand new.
