The end of the school year is only weeks away. I’m sure you and your children want to thank the teachers with a special gift. Forget the traditional apple. I made desk caddies from items I found at Goodwill!

I sprayed the wood napkin holder black and the metal letter stand a bright lime green. Choose a color that matches your teacher’s personality.

Then gather ribbons, decorative tape, clothes pin and school pictures. Print a special message from your child to the teacher. Or have your child write it out themselves. Don’t forget to include the year.

I glued a narrow piece of ribbon to clip style clothes pins. They’re just another way to keep the desk clutter-free.

On the front, attach the message and photo with scrapbook paper glue. Add decorative touches like ribbon and colored background paper.

Your teachers will appreciate a useful gift made from the heart!
