Get Organized in 2013

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Jan 3, 2013 10:00:00 AM

026Happy New Year! January is the month for resolutions. You’re on your own for weight loss, but I can offer some ideas for getting organized. Forget spring cleaning, I like to rearrange and do a thorough reorganization after the Christmas decorations are down and put away.

Everyone has a junk drawer. The place for stuff that you don’t know what to do with. Dump everything out and toss out broken and unidentifiable items. (Do you really need that adapter from an old phone?)

Utensil trays are perfect for keeping order. The dividers hold everything.

030Cord control is a never ending source of frustration! Use a giant paper clip to keep each adapter separate and accessible.

032This is my favorite idea. Use coffee filters to protect dishes from scratches and chips. Insert one between every plate, bowl and cup. They are so inexpensive, don’t tear and are reusable!

039I have lots of Christmas decorations and storage is always an issue. Cardboard wine boxes are perfect for tall items like Santas or Nutcrackers. The built-in dividers keep everything separated and upright.

Send me your best organizing ideas and I might feature it in a future column.
