Personalized Coasters

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Aug 23, 2012 8:17:00 AM

I recently had to come up with a unique birthday present idea for my son Tyler. I wanted to make something personal and useful. Coasters came to mind. I wanted to incorporate something from Star Wars since he is a big fan.amazing goodwill tips

I started with a stack of ceramic tiles I found for $1.99.

I printed a picture from the internet, but you can use a poster, magazine photo, scrapbook paper, almost anything.

I wanted my set of six coasters to work together like a puzzle. I laid out the tiles on the poster to make sure the best part of the design shows.

Trace and cut out.

Use Modge Podge to adhere paper to tile. Add two or three additional coats to make sure your coasters are water proof.

The set was a big hit at the birthday party. You can even turn the puzzle coasters into a game for little kids.
