I wanted to share my amazing find at the Yorkville, IL Goodwill store with you. This is a picture of a dresser that my husband and I refurbished. The base of the dresser was an antique market find and the mirror was a find from my local Goodwill store. I think they are a perfect match! It took me around 25 hours to strip the entire thing (lots of carving details) and about 3 hours for the finish to be applied. I believe it's one of my most amazing finds at Goodwill!

Shopping at my favorite store on Palmer St, looking for a laptop bag, I saw this beautiful green bag underneath a pile of other bags. It was just what I was looking for, nice clean, sturdy and stylish! It would fit perfect with my wardrobe! I purchased it for $6.99. Went home looked up the brand, it is worth $195.00!!!!!! Great Find! Thanks donors and Goodwill!
I found these Mary Frances handbags for $8 each at the Grafton store. Researched online to find that these high end bags retail from $300 - $400 each. Needless to say, I was super excited!
On Tuesday, January 14, 2014 I was in the Wauwatosa, WI store on 121 and Feerick looking for dishes when I discovered a beautiful china cabinet that was been brought into the store. Of course, I bought it and I got this warm feeling like I had won something. Now I want to go to the store a lot. I did get the dishes, but that became secondary. I told my sister that that china cabinet would be my pride and joy for years even though I don’t have the fine china it deserves.
On a recent trip to my good will store in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin I bought a document embossed with the Wisconsin seal and signed by former Governor Anthony Earl for $1.99 up returning home I realized the back of the framed document was loose so I decided to take it apart for re-framing and boy was I surprised too find two more documents behind the original one signed by Lee Sherman Dreyfus, former governor of Wisconsin and also one signed by former governor and 1980 vice presidential candidate of the United States Mr. Patrick Lucey, also one of the signatures is from Vel Phillips who was a huge civil rights leader in Wisconsin and is also the first woman and African American woman too accomplish many things in her life!!
$9,000 Lithograph Bought for $12 at Milwaukee Goodwill
The piece titled “Red Nose” is a graphic black and white image with a red block of color in the middle, created in 1969. At first, “treasure hunter” Karen Mallet didn’t care for it but upon spotting the Calder signature, she had second thoughts. Calder died in 1976 and left behind a legacy of mostly mobiles and sculptures. However, he did spend part of his career painting.
