Not Your Grandma’s Apron Strings

apron shirt.fwI know it’s only the middle of September, but it’s never too early to think about Christmas if you plan to make gifts. This project is so simple and fast, that you’ll want to make one for everyone you know.

apronAprons! My grandma wore one every day (of course she cooked from dawn to dusk). Although I don’t cook as much, I still like to protect my clothes from spills and splatters.

This style starts with a man’s shirt! Choose a color and pattern that’s wild and bold (like this Hawaiian shirt) or a classic, tailored stripe.

Cut the back from the front at the side seams. Then cut the sleeves off (on an angle from
the underarm to the shoulder seam).

Turn under the side seams and hem.

Cut two 20” pieces of ribbon and stitch to each side.

For as little as $3.99 and less than 30 minutes, I have an original apron and can make gifts for everyone in no time!
