If you have the power to make someone happy, do it. The world needs more of that. - Unknown
Making people happy is something we take seriously at Goodwill. We hope you enjoy your shopping experiences, and we hope you walk out of our stores feeling better than when you came in. After all, the proceeds of your purchases help further our mission of providing training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence—and that's enough to make anyone smile!
The models shown above are actual Goodwill shoppers who were kind enough to donate their time to take part in our annual Amazing Looks photo shoot. They were selected and outfitted in clothing found at our very own Goodwill Store & Donation Centers by Goodwill Fashion Expert, Bjorn Nasett. The models were styled by Kitty Tierney of Impressions, and all photography was provided by Jessica Kaminski of The Refinery Photo Studio in Milwaukee.
As always, we thank you for supporting Goodwill's mission.
Robert's Story - Never Too Late to Learn In the video below you'll meet Robert, a donation attendant and utility worker at the Goodwill Store & Donation Center in Downers Grove, whose story epitomizes the courage and determination needed to overcome obstacles and barriers. As a child, Robert faced abuse and poverty and never learned how to read or write. After decades of hiding his disability, Robert began working for Goodwill and gained the friendship, support and encouragement of Goodwill Store Manager, Lauren Maddox and Goodwill Way Guide, Lauren James. Their bond proved to be the driving force behind Robert achieving his goal of learning how to read. |
