GII Week 2014

Goodwill Industries® Week was first celebrated in May 1951. This year, we celebrate the 63rd Goodwill Industries® Week, May 4 through May 10. This time is especially important for us to thank supporters of Goodwill, and most importantly, recognize and celebrate the people Goodwill serves.

Our mission at Goodwill is to provide training, employment and supportive services for people with disabilities or disadvantages who seek greater independence. Our vision is to be a recognized leader in helping people with disabilities and other barriers to employment develop work and life skills, find work and successfully perform that work.

Beyond our Stores

One of the first things people recognize about Goodwill is the Goodwill Store & Donation Center - and rightly so, for the stores are a key component of our history and our daily operations. But there is so much more to Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago.

Human Services is why Goodwill of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago exists. Last year, the number of individuals who received Goodwill services nationwide reached 4.2 million. Various programs in our service territory include: Workforce Development, Senior Services, Day Services and Workforce Connection Centers. Goodwill’s Work Services offers on-site employment in packaging, assembly and inspection for persons with severe and multiple disabilities.

Goodwill TalentBridge
Goodwill TalentBridge is a recruiting, staffing and placement service that provides customized, strategic talent solutions for area companies. Whether you need to fill entry level positions or recruit senior executives, we connect with job seekers on every level, using a variety of platforms from more traditional recruiting and referral techniques to the power of social networking. We can manage either portions of your recruiting process or the entire cycle, with solutions as varied as staffing an additional shift to providing a seasonal contingent workforce to a full scale on-site staff management.

Goodwill Laundry & Linen Services
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin has been a provider of quality laundry services since 1974 when we began processing laundry for the U.S. Naval Base in Northern Illinois. Goodwill Laundry & Linen Services customers now include hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and hospitality businesses throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Our facility processes approximately 14 million pounds of laundry per year.

Goodwill Manufacturing
Goodwill Manufacturing provides high quality, competitively priced packaging, assembly, rework and inspection services, as well as complete supply chain and inventory management. We partner with corporations from product conception to national launch and distribution, with confidentiality and intellectual property security. We are a green company, recycling and reusing material as part of an environmentally-friendly philosophy.

Goodwill DataShield
No matter what sensitive and confidential material your organization handles, Goodwill DataShield can destroy it quickly and securely. Through our secure shredding process, we ensure your organization big or small can protect your confidential information. Since 2006, Goodwill DataShield’s 107,000 square foot shredding facility located in Milwaukee has easy access to the freeway system, which allows us to be efficient and cost-effective with our pickups. We also use state of the art equipment and technology which is maintained by a highly skilled staff of mechanics.

Goodwill Great Lakes
Goodwill Great Lakes provides food service, logistics, laundry and administrative services for both Sailors and recruits at Naval Station Great Lakes, the only Navy boot camp in the United States and the largest ashore food service operation. Annually, Goodwill serves 8.5 million meals, issues over 2.7 million uniform items and processes over 2.4 million pieces of mail for the U.S. Navy.

Transforming Lives Through the Power of Work

You want more from your work; you want a sense of fulfillment. You want a career with opportunities, not just a job. You want Goodwill, where the power of work can transform your life, and the lives of others.

Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin and Metropolitan Chicago is a mission-driven, not-for-profit organization uniquely different because of the business and social enterprises it operates that fuel our mission to provide training, employment and supportive services for people who are dislocated workers, or have disadvantages or disabilities.

All of our business operations, including our high-profile Goodwill Store & Donation Centers, support our mission two ways: through the revenue they generate and the job opportunities they create. Everything we do, every service we offer, every product we sell comes back to one thing: supporting our mission.

As part of the Goodwill team, your work will support our mission and help people with disabilities and disadvantages find meaningful employment.
