Jars-a-plenty can be found at each Goodwill Store & Donation Center. From mason jars, to canning jars and everything in between, there’s a size or jar for all your needs. I wanted to give some jars a fun upgrade to use in my son’s nursery. See for yourself:

Materials:

  • Jars with lids (from Goodwill)
  • Small animal figurines (another Goodwill score!)
  • Acrylic paint in white and another color of your choosing
  • Tacky glue
  • Paintbrush

Make it!

Let me start out by saying how super simple this project is. A definite Pinterest-inspired win in my book! Now let’s get started…

  1. Start by painting your lids and your small animal figurines in white acrylic paint. This will give it a nice base coat so that your second color really pops. Allow to dry. (Side note: if you cannot locate animal figurines, plastic cars or even fun shapes would also work!)
  2. Paint your pieces again, but with the secondary color of your choosing. I went with a color that would match my son’s nursery. Allow to dry. Paint a second coat for good measure, and allow to dry overnight.
  3. Using your tacky glue, adhere your figurine to the middle of the top of your jar lid. Allow to fully dry.

  4. I keep my homemade diaper cream and essential oils in my jars, but you could use them for any small items that you need to have on-hand in a jiffy. I just love how these turned out!
