Memorial Day – Get the Kids Involved
While it may be hard to explain the importance of Memorial Day to young children, we think it’s important to lead by example with honoring those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, and to teach them that these men and women are heroes that deserve respect. Here are some great activities you can do and let the kiddos take part in.
Goodwill and the Power of Work
Goodwill is especially proud of its strong history of supporting the military through the power of work. Our founder, Reverend Edgar J. Helms, first opened Goodwill’s doors in Boston, MA well over 100 years ago to help servicemen returning from World War I by providing job opportunities and skills training support.
While so much about our world has changed over the last 100 years that philosophy is still very relevant today. At Goodwill, we honor and respect the men and women who have served our country. Click on the button below to read their stories now.
