Earth Day Activities with the Family
At Goodwill, we make being green a part of everything we do. From the donations we prevent from hitting landfills, to the thousands of pounds of electronics we recycle through Goodwill E-cycle, Goodwill’s message of environmental sustainability is one we are very proud of! Learn more about our green efforts here.
It’s easy being green. Really, it is. A lot of little earth-friendly activities can lead to one big movement. Below are a few of those “little” activities that you and your family can take part in during the month of April, or even on Earth Day itself (April 22). Be sure to share with us which activities you complete by tagging @AmazingGoodwill on Facebook and Twitter and @amazinggoodwill_ on Instagram.
This super simple activity is great for young kids, or those who are young at heart! Using a tee shirt from Goodwill, you can personalize it and show your Earth Month pride with these fun iron-on templates.

Besides showing Mother Earth a little extra love, there’s one other thing Earth Month puts me in the mood for… DIY projects! But more specifically, DIY projects that involves upcycling or upgrading items found at our Goodwill Store & Donation Centers.
Below are a couple projects that I recently did using everyday items found at my local Goodwill. You could easily replicate these with items that stand out to you, or use them as inspiration for your own DIY project.
And, once your project is complete, don’t forget to enter it into our Ultimate Upcycling Contest!
