Here's what she said about her DIY Costume:
“Pop! Goes the weasel” is not the sweet song my “Evil Jack in a Box” costume portrays! I am wearing my homemade Halloween costume with many items purchased at various Goodwill’s. This unique costume was constructed from a cardboard box covered in wrapping paper and card stock shapes that I cut out individually and glued on to the box. I then added letters to the front of the box with stencils and paint. Next I created a crank handle with a paint roller handle from goodwill. I added red Christmas lights from the holiday section at a Goodwill. Finally I put on the box some blood splatters with fake blood I purchased at goodwill. Once I finished the box, I was ready for the next part of my look, my actual clothing costume attire. I am inside of the box and my clothes head to toe were all found at area Goodwills! My jester headband I made with curtain fabric and stuffing. The red costume gloves, bow tie, tiered polka dot skirt, black fishnet thigh highs, dangly earrings, and dancing clown shoes were all purchased at various Goodwill's in southeast Wisconsin. I shopped 4 stores total to put this costume together. My clown makeup kit was even purchased at a Goodwill. I got the coat online and used a black tank top I already owned underneath. I added a prop knife from a toy store to complete the look. My whole costume cost about $70 to make, including the materials to construct the Jack box, makeup, prop, and clothing. I really stole the show wearing this unique DIY evil Jack in a box costume!
