Fall is upon us and there is nothing that I love more than shopping for new clothes! With the change of the seasons, I am looking to refresh my fall wardrobe. I headed over to my favorite local Goodwill Store & Donation Center to start my hunt.
As soon as I stepped inside, I went directly to the jackets. One of my favorite fall wardrobe staples is a leather jacket. It is the perfect thing to wear as the weather starts to cool down. Leather jackets are so versatile! They can be dressed up or down depending on what your plans are. As I skimmed through the racks of jackets, I found two great options - one moto-style black leather jacket and another with floral embroidery detail. I am such a sucker for all things embroidery so naturally, I fell in love! Leather jackets are always a classic, and finding one with trendy embroidery was a match made in heaven. Once I found this jacket, I knew I had to base my entire outfit around it.
Next, I was on to the jeans. Black jeans are a closet necessity for any time of the year, especially in the fall and winter months. I was really excited when I found some Everlane black skinny jeans. I knew they would go great with my leather jacket! I was so excited to notice that the jeans looked brand new! Finally, I knew I had to find some cute fall booties to complete my outfit! I originally thought I wanted some black booties but when I found these adorable brown leather ones, I knew I had to have them! One of my tips for styling any outfit is to not be afraid of mixing and matching black and brown. Given the right items, they can go together great!
If leather jackets are not your style, here are some of my other favorite fall styles:
- Flannels - wear them open or tied around your waist, fall flannels and shackets (shirt/jackets) are a great lightweight option to wear as we transition into fall. Don’t be afraid to check out the men’s section, you will probably be able to find some great flannels there!
- Jumpsuits - the great thing about jumpsuits is they are an entire outfit in one! Find a jumpsuit in a color perfect for fall (dark brown or deep red) and layer a cardigan over it!
- Chunky Cardigans - the chunkier the better! I love to look through the sweaters to find ones with a chunky knit pattern. You cannot go wrong with a cozy sweater during the fall and winter months.
