When the grass starts to turn green and buds appear on trees and bushes, you know spring is here! Even if the temperatures aren’t hot yet, you can’t help smiling when the sun shines. To welcome the new season, I like to hang a pretty wreath on my front door. Instead of the traditional round grapevine wreath, I decided on a different look this year.
I gave a metal clip board a couple of coats of chalkboard paint. I found this nice sturdy one at Goodwill for $1.99.
Bright pink daisies and a colorful ribbon will give it a pretty, festive look. You can find lots of faux flowers at Goodwill. Rinse them under warm water to remove any dust and revive their color. Choose a wire-edge ribbon to simplify bow making. Then hot glue the bow and flowers in place. Twist thin wire to the top for easy hanging. (I nail a flat push pin to the top of my door, and then wrap the wire around the pin. A flat pin allows you to close the door!).
Write your spring message with chalk. You might want to hang a piece of chalk for guests to leave you messages too.
