Fourth of July Welcome

Fourth of July WelcomeI entertain a lot so the challenge is to come up with something new for every occasion—especially when the same groups of friends or family members come over. This year, I’m trying a new style of door decoration. (Can you call it a wreath even if it’s not round?) I was digging through a box of collected stuff and came across a really old, vintage tennis racket. It’s very small, so maybe for a child?

I gathered about a 1-½ yards of wide red, white and blue woven ribbon and tied it to the racket with a twist tie. You know the ones that come with the box of trash bags. Never throw them away; they come in handy for all kinds of projects. Then I attached a country doll dressed in patriotic colors and stuck in a flag. Nothing could be easier. I love to see people do a double take when they realize the “wreath” is a tennis racket!4th-of-July-Decor.jpg
