Cast an Eerie Glow

Cast an Eerie Glow

Halloween is a month away, but if you’re the party host this year, I encourage you to start making your decorations now. Do a little every week so you won’t be overwhelmed at the last minute. Set up a spooky corner with your handiwork, or decorate the buffet table.

I started decorating this niche with a framed picture, animal cage, pumpkin and an antique switch. The corner needed light, but not just any light.

I found this tall, frosted cylinder lamp at Goodwill for $4.99. It was brand new and even came with a light bulb. The frosted finish creates shadows and gives it an eerie glow.

I had a package of black bat cutouts and a black-lite bulb. It’s as easy as taping the bats to the inside of the lamp with cellophane tape.

Add the black-lite and turn down the lights. It’s perfect for creating a little spooky corner.
