Words of Thanks

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Nov 19, 2014 1:36:00 PM

Is your Thanksgiving dinner calm and relaxing or loud and boisterous? The family is gathered together around the table for at least an hour so have some fun with your table setting. Let guests entertain themselves between courses with Scrabble tiles. You never know, the kids might even learn a new word or two!

Since the dinner table is full of food, make the centerpiece pretty, but easy to remove. Lay colorful leaves down the center of the table, add candles and spell out phrases like “Give thanks” with Scrabble tiles.

Recently I showed you how to make an elegant napkin ring/place card holder, but if you run out of time, just add tile letters to each plate.

Or use the rack that comes with the game next to each dinner plate.

Or, if you’re like me, you like party favors. Glue each guest’s name to a tag and everyone gets to take something home besides left-overs.
