Pumpkin Parade

pumpkin paradeNeed a last minute Halloween idea? Here are two simple ways to decorate pumpkins without carving. And they literally take only a few minutes. I used mini pumpkins, but you can use the ideas for big ones, too.

Mummy’s Home!

Supplies:

  • Pumpkins
  • Cheesecloth
  • Scraps of ribbon or yarn
  • Black paper or felt
  • Scissors

Steps:

  • Cut cheesecloth into two-inch wide strips.
  • Wrap around pumpkin until covered. (I used five-or-six strips for the mini ones, you will need more for larger pumpkins
  • Tuck the loose end in one of the strips
  • Cut eye shapes from black paper or felt
  • Slip the eye under a piece of cloth. The felt will stick, but paper might need a little glue to hold it in place.

It only took 5 minutes!

Supplies:

  • Pumpkins
  • Black netting or tulle (You can find it at a fabric store OR find a dress at Goodwill made with netting)
  • Scraps of ribbon or yarn
  • Scissors

Steps:

  • Cut large squares of netting; you will want about two inches at the top when gathered
  • Gather around the pumpkin
  • Hold in place with a piece of ribbon or yarn

Voila! Pumpkins Audrey Hepburn would be proud of!
