There are so many things to think about when planning a wedding. Formal or casual? Trendy or classic? Elegant or funky? Whatever style you choose, it should reflect the personalities of the bride and groom.
If a formal reception is more your style, then a silver and white table setting is a perfect solution.
Instead of the traditional charger, I made placemats and table runners out of metallic knit shirts I bought at Goodwill.
Then I collected white, silver and crystal plates, bowls and accessories. Some had a touch of pale blue or grey. Layer each dish and you’re set for every course.
Cloches are a hot trend in home décor this year. I love them at place settings too. Not only do they add height, but they’re an unexpected element. I covered a pear, but you could tuck in a flower or even a fancy dessert.Instead of the usual table number stand, I bought crystal clocks at Goodwill and removed the face and hands. Then print the
table number in an elegant font and glued it in place.
Illuminate each setting with a glittery candle. Cover each votive with glue (spray of brush-on) then roll in glitter. The perfect favor for your guests to take home.
Finally, decorate a basic white napkin with a silver pin. Goodwill is a great source of jewelry pieces. No one said everything has to match. I printed guest names on white paper and lined the edges with stick-on “jewels”.
Your guests will certainly ohh and ahh when they walk into your elegant silver and white reception hall.
