Not every wedding calls for formal gold-rimmed fine china. If you’re planning a destination wedding, like the beach, then your tablesetting should fit the venue. Everything I used for this sea shore wedding reception, I found at Goodwill!
Incorporating color in the table setting is a big wedding trend for 2014. Keeping everything in the same color family (bridesmaid dresses, flowers, table and hall décor) presents a coordinated and cohesive look.
My initial inspiration was shell bordered white plates. They’re perfect with these 60’s era blue-and-green dinner plates.
Once you set the foundation (the plates), simply build from there. I continued the “beachy” theme with the blue shell bowls and lots of sea shells.
Write your guest names and table numbers on a small conch shell. Not only do they know where to sit, but they have a keepsake to remember your special day.
Tie basic white napkins with green embroidery floss and tuck in a starfish. (Another party favor!)
Small shells and glass stones scattered on the table are reminiscent of a day at the beach.
To carry the theme even further, add starfish to the bridesmaid’s bouquets and gentlemen’s boutonnieres. Write the table number on large conch shells and set them on a tray filled with sand and more shells and stones.
