Sometimes an item I find has seen better days or, in the case of this lamp table, is simply outdated. I’m not a fan of this style of floor lamp. I love lamps and tables, just not an all-in-one style. But, it only took two cans of spray paint to create a charming side table.
I took the table apart by unscrewing the top pole from the bottom. It had been in my shed for several months, so there was a little rust on the base. I sanded the rust spot with a sand paper, then used a spray-primer so it wouldn’t seep through the final coat. The final coat is a metallic black color.
Instead of leaving the glass top clear, I found a frosted glass spray paint. I love the effect. Be sure to read and follow the directions on the can.
Pedestal based tables take up less space than one with four legs. This is the perfect size next to an armchair or next to the bed.
