Try something different this year. Make Easter baskets from berry boxes and old fashion pipe cleaners (chenille stems).
Twist colored pipe cleaners together to make a handle. Or form bunny ears at the top. Cut a small hole on two sides of the basket to attach the handle.
I used the dyed cheesecloth I made last week (kind of looks like lettuce!) and nestled eggs among marshmallow bunnies. Stamp the recipient’s name on an egg so everybody knows whose is whose.
The other basket has a bird nest ($.49 at Goodwill) and orange M&M candy instead of the usual Easter grass.
To get the decorative stripe look, wrap string around each egg and tie the ends together. Be sure to leave a couple of inches so you can “dunk” the egg in the dye solution.
Make little name cards from paint chips. Cut out an egg shape, add a contrasting zig-zag stripe and stamp a name.
