Gifts for Dad

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Jun 12, 2013 1:43:00 PM

42 53.fwI don’t know a Dad who doesn’t like a hand-made gift from his children. I have a couple of easy DIY projects kids can tackle (with a little help from Mom).

Make Dad a personalized shelf and trophy or a tool caddy.

1. I picked up a spoon display rack and a small country-style shelf. There is always an abundance of wood items at Goodwill, just adapt what you find.

2. I purchased a camouflage tape at the hardware store and found tape measure refill packages at Goodwill.

The trophy was from someone’s grade school days. I removed the bottom half. Have your kids make a special sign telling Dad how special he really is.

3. For the tool caddy, I cut the tape measure with a tin snips. This is a job for Mom since the tape edges can be sharp. Plan your design and then measure the space and cut to fit.

4. You will need a heavy duty adhesive to hold the tape measure in place.

Get creative with your design layout. The possibilities are endless.

Honor Dad with a special gift made from the heart. I’d love to hear what you made! Send photos.
