Nesting Instinct - Easter Baskets!

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Apr 6, 2012 8:39:00 AM

amazing goodwill blogChildren of all ages love coloring and decorating Easter eggs. And what better way to display those festive creations, then with unique and unusual baskets you make yourself.

Begin your basket search, by visiting your nearest Goodwill store and look for small bowls or dishes that resemble an egg shape.

To dress up “the basket”, tear pages out of an old paperback book that has seen better days. Goodwill always has these stocked on their shelves as well.

Layer the paper strips onto the bowl with decoupage glue and a paint brush.

Allow your new “basket” to dry, according to the directions on the decoupage bottle. Rather than utilizing messy, green Easter grass, fill your basket with more torn papers.

Add a personal touch, by printing a greeting and the lucky recipient’s name tag on coordinating paper.

For an even faster and much easier project, I used a decorative frame I found at Goodwill for only 99¢.

Once again, instead of plastic green Easter grass, follow Goodwill’s mantra of “reduce, reuse, recycle,” and add your ripped book pages on top of the frame.

Now place those colorful eggs…and there you go. Instant Easter glamour! Happy Easter everyone!
