Hoppy Easter Baskets

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Apr 12, 2012 4:24:00 PM

easter basketsThe Easter celebration is just days away and it’s time to fill those Easter baskets. Here are some unique ideas for baskets that are too pretty to hide.

Remember, there’s no need to spend a lot of money on the “perfect” Easter basket when you shop your nearest Goodwill Store & Donation Center.

Goodwill is a great source for wicker baskets in all sizes and styles. This one was only 49¢ and although it’s nice, I wanted to personalize it for my niece.

To begin, I cut a square of fabric big enough to tuck inside and cover the bottom.

Next, glue the fabric to the inside top edge. Big paper clips or clothes pins will hold the fabric in place while the glue dries.

I shredded the left over raffia from last week’s paper carrots and filled it with her favorite candy, to create a one-of-a-kind gift.

Here’s another idea; get double duty out of your baskets. A wire basket (a Goodwill bargain at 99¢) holds fruit today and Easter treats this weekend.

Once again, I used some purple paper raffia left over from other projects. I simply wove it around the “spokes” of the basket and tucked in the ends. This is quick and easy, with no gluing necessary.

Add as many rows of paper as needed to fill in your basket with added color.

Nothing could be easier or look prettier on your dinner table. Have a joyous Easter everyone!
