The end of May signals the official start of the planting season. I love a flower garden; I just don’t have much of a green thumb. I can, however get plants to grow in pots and love to welcome guests with lots of flowers at the front door. This year, instead of the traditional clay pots or glazed pottery I decided to try something different.
Copper molds were popular as kitchen décor in the 1980s, but today they make terrific planters.
Or for a more contemporary look, try glass shade from a hanging light fixture.
Good drainage is the key to successfully grow plants in pots. Be sure to add stones at the bottom.
I have a little cactus that needed replanting. It fits perfectly in a ladle! I can hang it outside away from the wind during the summer and bring it in when the weather gets cold.
Potted plants dry out quickly, so be sure to water them every day.
