Sizing Up Designer Fashion
One of my favorite sayings of all time is “dress the body you have now, not the one you might have in the future.” In other words, don’t put off exploring fashion choices because you’re not at your goal weight. The truth is, we need to love ourselves as is, and do the best with what we’ve got. Of course, seizing the opportunity to be happy AND stylish isn’t just for other people we see in fashion magazines, but for every one of every size and shape. That’s why when I heard about Smart Glamour, I knew I had to share their ideology with all of you. Part of the fashion company’s mission statement says, “SmartGlamour has three main very broad goals: to empower women through clothing and help them on a road to body acceptance, to make good quality clothing that is sold at affordable prices, and to cut away at women-on-women hate that stems from insecurity and the belief that beauty and brains can not go hand in hand.” During my time in New York City for Fashion Week, I was invited to Smart Glamour’s runway presentation, but I was, unfortunately, unable to attend. However, their public relations department sent me some wonderful images from the show for me to share with all of you. These photographs will hopefully inspire you to rethink your own wardrobe choices and also take a look at the top spring and summer trends that are a great fashion fit for a woman of any size and shape.
