Early last Saturday morning I joined a few hundred folks at the Boston Store in Mayfair Mall for an exclusive in-store runway show of the latest fall fashions from some of the biggest names in retail. Bon-Ton, the parent company of Boston Store, has been a partner with Goodwill over the years by helping to collect donations from their customers and then rewarding them with special discounts on merchandise during the bi-annual Goodwill Sale. I really like that this company gives back and helps put more resources at the fingertips of those Goodwill serves through our community programs. Plaid isn’t stodgy anymore, and it can be worn by all body types and ages!

Layering is never out of style, but it looks especially great when done in monochromatic hues.

Menswear trends can be accessed by simply finding a cool hat and adding it to your wardrobe! For those who may be a bit on the bold side, find a pinstriped pant or sport coat in the men’s department at Goodwill. 

Velvet can be found in pants, skirts and blazers to add a touch of cozy chic for a cold-weather look.

Fringe elements are seen in skirts, jackets and especially handbags for those who dare to be a little bit bohemian and bold.

Texture is a key word you don’t want to miss. Whether a faux fur, nubby knit, leather piece or accessory, you can’t go wrong when combining different and contrasting elements.
