Around this time of year, I like to try to bring a bit of color into my wardrobe just to spread a little cheer. I always feel a bit happier when I see bright colors toward the end of winter. As the days get longer and the sun gets brighter—so should we.
I went shopping at my local Goodwill and found a couple of great items that can add a much-needed boost to my everyday attire. I found this great pair of bright corduroy J.Crew pants for just $5.99 in my size! SCORE! I don’t wear red items much, but I do know how powerful that coral/red color can be, so for me I usually wear it in pants or an accessory instead of a shirt or sweater. When I do where red, I tend to pair it with something casual and neutral, like a knit shirt. I got this Tony Hawk pullover in a gray-and-black wide stripe for just $3.99. Each of these pieces could be worn with many things you may already have, but I decided to wear them together to work today. I kept the cool-and-casual vibe going by wearing some hi-tech sneakers and a silver Timex watch.
TIP: Always be on the lookout for basic pieces likes these that mix and mingle with most anything you may already have. Dressing well and stylishly doesn’t always mean dressing up, and with my look costing around $10, how can you go wrong?
