Chris MartinWhen Chris Martin saw a notice in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel seeking models for a vintage fashion show presented by Goodwill Industries, she thought it “sounded like fun, and it was for a good cause.” Goodwill volunteers present an average of 65 vintage shows per year across southeastern Wisconsin. The shows provide entertainment and raise awareness of Goodwill's programs and services. Each of the shows are created and presented by Goodwill’s Volunteer Services. The proceeds are used to support Goodwill’s mission of providing work opportunities and skill development for people with barriers to employment.

Martin models for 50 of the 65 annual vintage fashion shows, as well as mends clothing used in the performances. Volunteering for the vintage fashion shows, Martin says, has allowed her to give back to those in need.

“There are a lot of great people in our community who work very hard to make a difference. It seems we always hear the negative. Volunteering gives me a bird's eye view of the kind, caring and generous people in our community.”
