DianeN"My sister was visiting us in Wisconsin from Idaho and we both love shopping in resale stores and refer to ourselves as 'Goodwill addicts.' We'd already checked out the Goodwill stores in the Appleton/Menasha/Darboy area and on this particular day we were in the Sheboygan store. We were just about ready to move to the check-out counter when I thought I'd take a look at the dresses. I'm a 'Red Hatter' and thought maybe I'd find something purple to wear to our chapter events.

It was about eight months before my daughter's wedding, and I had been thinking about what I'd want in my 'Mother of the Bride' dress, but I hadn't yet started to check out the bridal shops. I knew I wanted a long dress, with a long-sleeved jacket, and I was thinking about maybe pale blue, possibly a pale green, and hoping I wouldn't have to pay more than $200 for it. I could not believe my eyes when I found the dress on the rack in that Goodwill store! Celery green, floor length, long sleeved jacket with beautiful pearl accents on the jacket... and it fit like it was made for me! To top it off, it was Senior Citizen Day so there was a discount involved. Including sales tax, the cost of my Mother of the Bride dress came to $6.25! I received a lot of compliments on the dress during the wedding reception, and the woman in charge of the catering commented on it so many times during the evening that when we met with her to pay the dinner bill, and she commented once again on my 'elegant dress,' I just had to tell her where I found it and what I paid for it! Turned out she's a 'Goodwill addict' as well, and she hugged me and said, 'you're my kind of woman!' I've found some really good bargains at Goodwill stores over the years, but this one will probably always be my favorite."
