Winter 2015 Clothing Trends
While winter is definitely coming in like a lamb, we can’t help but be excited for the vibrancy that the season brings. If you look on the bright side of winter; the snow, families gathering, Christmas lights, the smell of cinnamon and pine – it’s really all pretty magical. This season, we’ve naturally chosen clothing trends that seamlessly transition from day to night. With the busyness of the holidays, this is just what your wardrobe needed! Welcome ponchos, lacey sweaters, perforated accessories and bird patterns!
Ponchos
Why they made the list
Warm… and stylish! We LOVE the variety you’ll find in ponchos this season. From long to short, plaid to plain, knit to cotton, there’s one in every style for every personality and shape!

Ponchos are great for pulling off a day to night look. Start your work day with a patterned poncho, paired with neutral ankle pants. The loose top does great things for emphasizing the slimness of the pant. Accessorize with ankle boots or heels. Simply swap your work pants for denim at the end of your work day, and you’re set for a date night or a night out with friends!Lacey Sweaters
Why they made the list
It’s the coziness of a sweater, but with a touch of personality! We love the subtly-sexy lace details on shoulders, wrists and yes, even the back of sweaters.

With their increase in popularity, lacey sweaters that are work appropriate are easily accessible. For your work attire, look for a sweater with small lace details; the wrists and the hem are perfect! For the weekend or evening, we love the details of lace shoulders; this adds just the right amount of texture to an otherwise plain shirt. That lace against a simple backdrop is exactly what you want too – the key to the trend is the subtle texture of lace, so it won’t work as well if it’s adorning a heavy patterned top.

Perforated Accessories
Why they made the list
Heels and handbags are where it’s at this season. Perforated accessories give a touch of intrigue, a dash of sophistication and loads of character to your wardrobe! Perforated texture isn’t limited to leather fabric; you’ll find the pattern on suede and denim also!

If you’re style is more on the mod side, look for a vibrant hued leather handbag or tote with a perforated pattern. Perforations on suede and denim are great for those with a more boho or sophisticated style. And don’t forget, the actual pattern of the perforations affects the personality of the piece as well; rounded edges are more whimsical and natural feeling, while straight lines and edges give a more refined tone to the look. Go with the vibe that feels right for you!
Bird Patterns
Why they made the list
“Come fly with me, come fly away!” Just like the lyrics, bird patterns have us feeling light as air with their touch of whimsy. Like the rest of our trends, bird patterns can make for an ultra-chic work look, but can easily transition for a weekend on the town.
Pull it off
For your work look, stick to smaller bird patterns. Large bird patterns are great for a casual weekend, but may not be work appropriate, so keep your birds tiny! Monochromatic or black and white patterns are great for the office too. Weekend with the girls? Large, colorful birds it is! Pastels keep your look flirty and feminine.
