Spring’s forecast calls for a refreshing take on colors, fabrics and styles! It’s time to pack away the dark hues and straight lines of winter and welcome airy, bright and casual back into our wardrobe! Ahh, the thought alone makes you give a sigh of relief that screams “it’s about time” doesn’t it? It was hard to narrow down all of the fun trends that we’ll see this spring, but we couldn’t possibly get through the season without these: floral shoes, pistachio colors, slouchy pants, stripes and fringe!
Nothing screams spring like pretty bright florals! We adore floral prints on shoes; it’s a subtle way to add a dainty pop of color to your wardrobe, and you can really play up your personality by choosing a floral print that fits your style best. You’ll see floral shoes in both heels and flats. This is great, because you can incorporate the trend while at the office, or while you’re out for a casual lunch. Be sure to use neutral base colors, like cream or navy blue, to keep a classic feel to the look. We love the idea of a blue floral heel! Pair this heel with cream dress capris for a soft look, or try a black pant for some extra pop!

We’re nuts for spring’s hottest hue; pistachio! A little paler than mint, pistachio is one pretty and fresh color we can’t get enough of. As unusual of a color as this is, incorporating a few pieces into your wardrobe will allow you to pull off the trend. You’ll see pistachio hues on accessories, jeans, skirts and blouses. We love the fresh look of white pants with a pistachio belt. This color goes great with all skin types, so whether you’re tan from spring break or embracing your pale side, you’re sure to look great in pistachio! Pair your pistachio pieces with a darker shade of green for an overall fresh look. Looking for something more unexpected? Try a plum purple blouse and pistachio jeans!

Say ‘goodbye’ to stiff pants, and ‘hello’ to relaxed ones. Slouchy pants are one of our favorite trends this season; they’re effortless and oh so chic! You’ll see slouchy pants mainly in capri length this season. This style is perfect for the office when paired with a heel or great for a day of shopping when dressed down in flats. When you’re at the office, offset the casual pant with a crisp blouse to keep the look dressy.

Stripes; they have such a classic look to them, yet over the years have been transformed into many different styles. That’s why we couldn’t possibly complete our spring 2013 wardrobe without them. This season, stripes have gone back to their classic look of narrow and contrasting lines. Look for navy and white or black and white contrasting lines to stay on trend. Narrow lines work best for all body types, so keep those stripes skinny! While stripes are covering shoes, handbags and pants this season, we still love the look of a striped top over dark blue skinny jeans; you can’t go wrong with this one! Stripes work well with other patterns, so pair your black and white striped top with some floral flats for a look that screams spring!

Fringe can be a little intimidating when incorporating it into your wardrobe, but don’t fret; when done right, fringe is super fun and surprisingly easy to wear! The key to style success with fringe is moderation. You don’t want a top or dress with fringe all over. Your pieces should have a few well-placed strips. We recommend starting off with fringe on your accessories. Handbags with fringe are irresistible! Along with handbags, you’ll also see fringe on shoes, necklaces, and on the hem of shirts and skirts. Once you feel more comfortable with the trend, try out a simple skirt with fringe along the hem. If you’re wearing fringe on your clothing, keep your accessories minimal so you don’t over-do it. Likewise, if you have fringe on your accessories, avoid too many prints on your clothing.
