Fall 2014 Clothing Trends
Fall is one of our favorite seasons for clothing. Why you ask? For starters, you can pull out more of those classic dark colors from your closet that you love to wear. Secondly, you can pull together both summer and winter pieces from your wardrobe to keep up with the changing weather. This year, each of fall’s trends has a very specific focus. This makes pulling together your look that much easier! The fall trends you definitely want to be caught in are leather pants, long vests, sky blue hues, strong suits and wool knits.
Leather Pants
Why they made the list: It’s simple; leather pants are just plain cool. This year, they’re available in a variety of styles, from trousers to leggings. Whether you want to look edgy, or sophisticated, any fashionista can pull them off! We love that the material alone can really take a look to the next level, too!
Pull it Off: We love both the slouchy look of leather trousers and the sleek lines of leather leggings! So, why choose? If you’d prefer the less “rocker” look, stick with trousers, and keep your overall look minimalistic. A blouse in a light or pastel shade would be perfect. If you’re working with leather leggings, keep the rest of your look just as sleek. Pair your pants with a fitted blazer and high heels!

Long Vests
Why they made the list: We love this twist on such a classic item. Instead of the puffy vests and suit vests that we’ve seen for years, designers have lengthened and added a unique flair to vests this season! The added length offers a lot of versatility to your wardrobe, so you can pull off wearing your vests over even more outfits!
Pull it Off: Long vests look great over a pair of skinny jeans/pants and a fitted top. Our favorite way to wear them however, is over a dress. The dress can be fitted or a little slouchy (like a shirt dress); either fit works well with a long vest! Be sure your long vest is in a hue that compliments the outfit underneath. Finding a neutral vest is the best way to ensure you’ll be able to pair it with most of your outfits!

Sky Blue Hues
Why they made the list: Sky blue hues are a breath of fresh air in the fashion world (pun intended). This color adds a beautiful contrast to fall’s natural jewel-tones. Designers are introducing sky blue items all over their collections, so you’ll be able to find the hue in outerwear, accessories and more!
Pull it Off: Sky blue may be channeling springtime, but the key is to keep your look fall appropriate. Look for sky blue items in heavier fabrics to accomplish this. We adore the look of a sky blue jacket! This can be paired with any neutral outfit, and easily transitions to winter, and even spring. Sky blue pairs beautifully with charcoal, burgundy and cream tones; add touches of these colors to your outfit to pull the entire look together!

Strong Suits
Why they made the list: It’s the “power suit” with an added edge. This season, women’s suits have been given a boost of confidence through their tailoring and lines, and we can’t get enough of it! We love that you can pull together separates to create your suited look, but will also be able to find complete collections this season too.
Pull it Off: The sleeker the lines, the better. Look for a pair of gray or black skinny-fit trousers, to pair with a tailored matching blazer. A loose blouse underneath works great, as would a monotone vest or button-up shirt. The key to finding the “strong” in strong suits is having a fitted and structured look; no wide legs pants here! Accessorize your wardrobe with neutral pumps and simple jewelry.

Wool Knits
Why they made the list: Nothing screams crisp, fall weather like wool knits! This material is sturdy, but still has an effortless feel to it that we love. This trend is perfectly cozy, but can still be taken to the office – we give that two thumbs-up!
Pull it Off: For the ultimate office wear to casual day look, look for a knit wool sweater dress. This can be worn anytime of day when worn with opaque tights and ankle boots! Wool knit jackets are ideal for a casual day out; we love these paired skinny jeans and a casual tee shirt!
