Winter 2009-10 Fashion Tips & Trends
It’s time to pack away your lightweight clothes and sandals to make room for boots and fur coats this winter. Designers show us some cool weather fashions that are hot, hot, hot. Plus they are easy to incorporate into your wardrobe!
Animal Prints. Very popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s this wild print is making a comeback. It’s seen on handbags, scarves, shoes, tops, t-shirts, skirts, gloves and even jackets. Don’t dress head-to-toe in animal prints, but rather pair one piece with other neutrals.
Sequins/Shimmer. It’s hip to glitter this season. Choose fabrics that glow with a subtle hint of sparkle or items that are covered in sequins. Make sure to keep accessories at a minimum with this look.
Skinny Jeans. They have been around for quite some time and are a great staple to pair with other items. Wear them with an oversized sweater or a tailored shirt, or cuffed them for a more casual look.
Fur. When it comes to fur, go faux—it’s much more affordable. Fur pieces come in a variety of colors, textures and styles. You’ll find vests, stoles, hats and shawls. One very important thing to remember is that your piece should look fabulous. If it doesn’t, it’s not worth the money.
Boots. This winter, ankle high booties are hot! These easy-to-wear shapes can be paired with skinny jeans, skirts or long sweaters & leggings. Plus you can dress up the look or make it more casual. They are very versatile.
