Season's Greetings
I hope you had a chance to get your outside lights hung while it was warm last weekend! Christmas might be weeks away, but it’s never too early to get started with your decorating.
Even if you’re not ready to set up your tree, you can get into the spirit by making your own Christmas wreath. It’s a wonderful way to welcome guests for less than $10.00.
I picked up the faux green wreath for only $3.99; a great deal. I can reuse it each year. There’s no need for nails, because I found an over the door hanger for just 99¢! Door hangers are really convenient ways to move the wreath without worrying about too many holes in the wall.
Boxes of miscellaneous ornaments range from 49¢ to $1.99. Simply choose a color scheme and look for ornaments in a variety of sizes and shades. This is a really easy way to decorate while showing some of your personality. I chose to work with a white theme for my wreath.
Group three ornaments together using wire and twist on one of the branches.
Design Tip 1: Use an extra long ornament hook. They’re the easiest to bend.
Design Tip 2: Work on the wreath while it’s hanging rather than lying on the table. It allows you to step back and see where to attach each piece.
Space the trio clusters around the wreath. Try for balance, but not perfection!
Wind tinsel garland around the branches and ornaments. I chose a sparkly white garland to go with the white color scheme.
These berries coated with glitter were in a bag of miscellaneous Christmas items, it was a steal at $1.99.
I pulled the berries apart and tucked them randomly around the ornaments.
Lastly, hang your wreath where holiday guests can catch a glimpse! You can enjoy your creation for years to come. The wonderful thing about using ornaments is that they can easily be swapped out if you decide to change up the look/theme of your holiday décor.
