A Fabulous Easter: Love It & 'Leaf' It
You
know me: I love to get creative at the dinner table. Holiday meals are a
great time to show off your amazing finds from Goodwill to your family
and friends.
These beautiful ceramic bowls from Italy were my inspiration for an unusual Easter dinner table.
Instead
of a basic white table cloth, I chose natural woven placemats
(6 for
$2.99). The little pockets can hold silverware, which I will take
advantage of at a casual summer party.
Who needs a plate when you can eat almost anything from these wonderful, hand painted dishes? ($4.99 each)
Sticking with green, I looked for wine glasses in a similar shade, a bargain at 99¢ each.
I wrapped a cotton napkin around the stem of the glass...
…to make bunny ears! It is Easter after all.
I
couldn’t believe my luck when I found little copper molds. The package
of 8 (for $2.99) included bunnies and ducks. They will make fun party
gifts. I could personalize them for place cards. Or turn them over and
fill them up with candy.
Everything about
this table setting is different, so why not break all the rules?
Overlapping the silverware to the left of the leaf dish creates a
balanced place setting.
It wouldn’t be
Easter without jelly beans. Instead of a basket, try a flower or candle
dish for the grown-up’s table. Forget messy grass; nestle your eggs in
jelly beans!
Have a blessed and lovely day!
