Toy Recall
There has been a rash of recalled items in the news lately. The latest recall involves numerous toys from Mattel and Fisher-Price. Goodwill’s Retail Services has always taken steps to ensure that these items do not reach the store shelves by keeping their staff aware of the latest recall news, through their association with the Consumer Protection Agency. Does this mean you’ll never see a recalled item in a Goodwill store? Probably not. Items can slip through any process, few things are foolproof, however, staff work very hard to immediately pull such items from the shelves.
Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. will continue to accept toys. The only toys we would not accept are the ones on the recall list.
If you are interested in checking any of your children’s toys to see if they are part of this recall go to the Consumer Protection Safety Commission’s website at www.cpsc.gov and click on ‘recalls and product safety.’
