Santa Belt Christmas Ornaments!

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Dec 16, 2015 4:26:55 PM

031-500.jpgI don’t know if you know this about me, but I’m the Christmas Queen. I love everything about Christmas, (except baking cookies)! Instead of baking, I prefer to make ornaments for my tree and as gifts. This year it’s Santa belts with a dash of glitter.

For this easy DIY project you will need:

  • Plastic ornament balls
  • Red glitter
  • Black grosgrain ribbon 3/8”
  • Little flat-back sticky crystals; I used Bling on a Roll
  • Craft glue
  • Floor cleaner

I found a post on Pinterest that revealed the secret to adding glitter to plastic ornament balls. Floor cleaner! Who knew?

Pour a small amount of cleaner in the ornament and swirl around until the entire ball is coated. Pour out any excess.

Before it can dry, add red glitter. Shake it up to cover the whole ball. Add more if necessary and dump out the extra.

Cut a length of ribbon to fit around the center of the ornament and add an inch. Spread a thin coat of glue to the ribbon and attach to the ball.

Cut apart and adhere the crystals to the center of the “belt” in a buckle shape.

And that’s it! Fast, easy and adorable. Make one for every person on your gift list.
