Home for the holidays conjures up happy meetings and greetings of family and friends in casual settings of all kinds. Visiting homes, seeing the holiday lights, Christmas shopping and all the rest helps bring the season of giving into focus for many of us at this time of year. Dressing the part has never been easier with the wealth of resources available to you at Goodwill! There are elements that make an outfit cozy, comfy, as well as winter wonderful, so let’s take a look. These photos are from Boston Store’s fall fashion show, which I had the pleasure of attending. Their stores have been a partner with Goodwill for their bi-annual Goodwill Sale promotion for many years.

What is winter without some fantastic boots? Check out these casual, as well as fashion-forward styles from Vince Camuto and Frye, to name a few. The rough-hewn textured leathers and the soft suede add that special touch to a classic winter look.

Plaid, plaid, plaid. We just can’t get enough of this fabric and print this time of year! Whether it’s a poncho, a long coat, sweater, blazer, or other piece, plaid just seems to be the perfect addition to the wearable winter wardrobe. Available in a variety of colors and patterns, both bold and subtle, there is definitely a plaid that will work for you, too!

Layering will always be in style, so get out those distressed jeans, leggings, wool skirts and layer away the chill! Just remember–the bulkier items should be your top layer!
