Makeena - Perfect Picture of Spring

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Apr 1, 2015 12:00:00 AM

Makeena is the picture of spring in this quietly-colorful ensemble. Pastel patterning on the skirt sets the tone for a fun look with retro accessories. Just think, pulling a look together can be as simple as one-two-three, as in blazer, blouse, and skirt. These three pieces are wardrobe workhorses in any woman’s closet, but here we give it the spring-floral treatment. We started with the linen skirt and added the other elements to compliment the delicate colors of the pattern. A wonderful celadon green blouse with ruffled flourish from Sunny Leigh really starts to pull a feminine-and-flirty look together. We had some fun with the accessories such as the brown box frame handbag that will never go out of style! The green beaded necklace that ties on with a ribbon, simple nude flats, and the fun-and-flirty vintage straw hat were also a good touch. The neutral colors of the hat, shoes and handbag make the outfit feel less matchy-matchy and more fashion forward. This lovely lady is ready for just about anything and this unfussy outfit will take her there in springtime style!

Cory - Shades of Blue, Black & Gray

Posted by Jamie Klinger-Krebs on Apr 1, 2015 12:00:00 AM

Shades of blue, black and gray don’t have to be boring if you combine them like we did for our model Cory. He had these pale-blue casual pants in his own wardrobe, so we based our look off of those. We went with a great Ben Sherman graphic t-shirt in black featuring a unique design, and then topped it off with a crisp blue-and-white gingham button down shirt for more contrast. Do you notice how the black really pops when paired with the blues? New Balance sneakers in black helped keep the look grounded in a more sophisticated way; and then we added the Tweety Bird watch just for fun and another pop of color. The stylish model’s own gray corduroy jacket becomes the perfect final piece of the fashion puzzle. Just like any outfit, it’s all about putting it together. TIP:  All blues will work together even if the hues are different. Black always looks good with gray and blue! These colors are a fool-proof formula for pulling together your own stylish take on a casually fun look like Cory’s!
