Leg Lamp
A major award, straight out of A Christmas Story!
Cover a large lamp shade ($2.99) with a gold tablecloth ($4.99). Velcro holds it together in the back and black ribbon straps keep it in place.
It wouldn’t be a leg lamp without the fringe trim and black fish net stockings.
High heel shoes (brand new at $6.99) and a black turtleneck shirt (2.99) complete the look.
Spaghetti & Meatballs
This no-sew costume is easy to make.
Turn a large cardboard box into a circle and cover it with self-adhesive paper or even spray paint.
Drape a red and white check tablecloth ($2.99) around the shoulders and fill the "bowl" with spaghetti (jumbo weight yarn).
Spray Christmas ornaments ($1.99 a dozen) with a textured brown spray paint to make the meatballs.
The “spaghetti” wig is a mop head ($1.99) attached to a headband.
Mermaid
The Little Mermaid made simple!
This adorable mermaid costume is made from a bath towel ($1.99) and bath scrunchies ($.99)!
Her bodice top is cut from a sun dress ($2.99) and covered with sea shells (large bag for $4.99).
Glue more shells to flip flops and a silk wreath ($1.99) and she’s ready for trick-or treat at a pool party.
Rabbit-In-the-Hat
Every Magician needs a rabbit in a hat trick.
Start with a round laundry basket ($.99). Remove the bottom and paint the inside black. Cover the outside with fabric from a black curtain ($2.99).
Cut a circle from black foam core board and glue to the basket rim to create a hat brim.
Dress the little rabbit in black pants ($.99) and white shirt ($.99). Make bunny ears from the fur lining of a sweater and attach to a headband. White ribbon shoulder straps will keep the “hat” secured.
